| Hello everyone i thought id post this link to a guide to good overtaking so then that new and old racers alike could read it if they wished, heres an extract from the guide
Overtaking
If you are passing someone on the inside while entering a corner you must have your car at least half way along side the other car to have the right of way. If you try to pass around the outside then exiting the corner you must be fully along side the other car, otherwise they are entitled to take the normal racing line, which may include pushing you wide In the event that they do start take you wide, you should ease off the throttle and fall back behind the other car as safely as possible. While this is not encouraged, many drivers try to push others wide to gain an advantage.
Overtaking on a straight is the safest place to do so. Using a drivers slipstream to gain more speed then pulling out at the last minute to take the place. This is allowed but drivers should always be aware of others when making these moves. Drivers should also allow extra time for breaking when entering a corner at a higher speed.

| heres an example of someone that first didnt agree but then saw logic in the not overtaking on the inside rule - sabbathian wrote:
- I must say that after some thinking, I generally agree with Bish... cause many drivers online are simple new and slow, and are not used to "real" racing, and are not expecting someone on their inside.
Side by side racing and inside overtaking is mostly reserved for more experienced drivers, who know what mirrors are for and know what to expect when they have someone on their tail.
In those cases I'm going for it (much less then before:))... but now when I'm in the situation to do that, I first look at the driver in front of me, see if he is experienced or not, test him with going outside of racing line... and in most cases, let him go and wait for other, more safe opportunity.
Straight is the best position to overtake, and most guys use it for a simple and clean overtake, or overshoot cause of too much speed | |

| For some reason I can not open that link now.
I think we should write complete list of rules for any single thing that can happen on track, then put it on forum and add a link to output of !rules command on servers. That way we can save some time when teaching newcommers to drive safe.
For that we can use some group-editing service. I know one that we can use at realtime =)
If we done this I can make russian translation.
What do you think? | |
