Hello everyone,

Today I decided to put a little trick on the wheel G27 and the G25.
Indeed, it is possible to combine two button with the "Profiler". So why not combine the Clutch and gearbox that will allow you to save time during the next gear.

here's the trick:

So this allows you to use the H shifter without the clutch? so when it changes gear it puts the clutch in first then into gear? like the sound of that but, but why dont you just change gear quickly and dont give it throttle instantly. Or when coming down gears, rev match.

G25/27 have paddle shift.... nobody use H-shifter because it's slow.
but with this trick you just click paddle behind wheel and software simulate fast "autoclutch"

I like lfs because it fully supports the H shifter thats a reason why i play it! dont think this is for me Sad you cant simply go up to any manual car with a h shifter, then make it paddle shift (unless you had the money)

Cool, works great.

I've been using the left centre button as the clutch. Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the tip.

Hey, check this out!

If you follow the instructions, you'll end up with code like this in the file where these settings are stored (for me it's at "c:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Logitech\Gaming Software\{F0092E1B-F390-4B3C-BDB6-1F4E192B4E02}.xml"):

Code:
<Command Id="4" Name="Clutch + Gear UP">
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="15" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="94" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="true" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="0" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="true" />
</Command>

I figured out that if I delete two of the pause events, and manually set the third one to a lower value, it'll still work:

Code:
<Command Id="4" Name="Clutch + Gear UP">
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="15" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="true" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="true" />
</Command>

The pause time value can't be too low though, because it makes the changing unreliable. For example, 5ms, and even 10ms was not enough for me, 15 seems to be fine. Update: 15 is fine for offline, but not enough for online. (Maybe it's because my not-too-powerful computer can't handle more cars (?)) I'm evaluating 25 now. You can experiment with it yourselves. And don't forget about the Gear DOWN settings either!

One important note:
The profiler needs to be closed before making any xml changes. This requires right-clicking the profiler in the task tray, exiting, and accepting the warning that the stick may not work properly without the profiler. After you saved the changed file, relaunch the profiler and it will recognize the changes.

Cheers!

Update. I've found that for FBM, a pause between the C and S is essential, something like this worked much better:
Code:
<Command Id="4" Name="Clutch + Gear UP">
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="30" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="false" />
   <Event Type="Pause" Time="40" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="C" Up="true" />
   <Event Type="Key" Keyname="S" Up="true" />
</Command>

that would depend on the user i think for this is a simulation game so some would think it is
due to not being as realistic as possible but if i am not wrong even cars now adays have this capability with paddle shifts in real cars and race cars?

some even think your cheating by not using cockpit veiw vs custom view or follow view lol!

Try this:

1. Start "Logitech Profiler" (also known as "Logitech Gaming Software").

Comment:
Create a new game profile for LFS, if you haven't already done so. This is the profile that stores your customization. When it's selected, you see the "Play [game profile name]" button under "Select A Device" and "Select A Game" buttons.

For this customization to work, you'll have to start LFS by pressing this "Play [...]" button.

2. Press a button on the wheel. A blue line will indicate, which button is it assigned to.

3. Click on that button, and select "Select Keystroke", then "New Keystroke".

4. A new little window will open. Press the "Record" button. Press Shift+S on your keyboard. You'll see in the "Keystroke information" box:
Shift Press
S Press

5. That's it. Make sure that the same button is not assigned to some other function inside LFS's Control options.
