Well, there is also one more option how to do it. Use standard txt file and PHP code will read and write names into it. It means you dont need database. Its backup option if MySQL really isnt here.

yeah mate that way would work,the way i done on viper site just sent a email to a email address i made for the team,have u had a look at the viper site,the team stopped before fully finishing but it looks good...

carry on driving bl2 and you will get to 1.08.75 ive seen you drive a lot and i reckon you will get 1.08.75,the main place ive found that time can be lost the most is the 1st bend coming of the dirt track if u cut into that correctly that will get you down even more:)

Good one...just one opinion...i said that before...the most important thing for racers who apply.should be recomandation-suport from other limads,admin...like time spend on servers,behaviour and things like that....i thing the team is becoming very popular this days and a lot of ppl wanna join...that why,not the !tm should be the most important thing in the application..well i dont say a fbm 1;20 racers should apply....i saw in time a lot a members who join,stay a few weeks and leave whitout a good explanation for leaving....they allways come back and realise they do a mistake.....we have to have members who want to be loyals and stay in the team...you now how its like?...like a man who leave this beautifull wife for a trump,stay a few month whit her and he come home and say...hey wife,sorry,i did a mistake.can i come home?should he let him come home whit a smile on her face? ....so..its just my opinion...limads and members put there suport on a aplication and SAM and supads accept or not an aplication....i saw in time good guys who was a casual racers and when he got limad power they go crazy and other way around,trouble makers who god limads and become a good limads...somobody say one time...POWER CORUPT PPL,ABSOLUTE POWER CORUPT ABSOLUTLY...so human mind is a strange thing and you never will be sure what job they can do on team......DONT KILL ME FOR THIS LONG POST...PEACE

i agree with christina loyalty is a must,also when i was in vrt there was a few times when you could see someone that wasnt doing very well with times but you could see they had the potential of them being good,i spend quite a lot of time on bl2 servers now and am bequinning to get used to putting names to there driving habits:bounce:

i didnt mean to say slow guys should join team...what i mean was ,on fbm in particular,majority of this aliens guys whit1;12 tm are freelancers.shoudnt be aloud to join team guys who act like they are gods and everybody else are nothing....so...behaviour and maturity should be a key factor

Well, of course nobody want robots only in team who know drive WR times in a row without any emotion or friendliness.
We need find good combination between this two attributes.

the thing is like in real racing we could activley and probably all do anyway scout for new members but scouting isnt just about recognising the quickest at the time and asking them, like you say theres other factors.Obviously everyone remembers when they first started playing lfs you wouldnt have automaticaly been the fastest but in a short space of time it would have been noticable that you had that drive in you so to speak that showed you had what it takes to be fast,well scouting is noticing that talent even before its had a chance to fully show and if they meet all other factors then giving them a little help to be up to speed,

Experience has shown us just in practice, the driver with "better times" (XFG under 1.08), just with the game and ultimately the rules are more familiar. That was one of the first basic criteria has emerged as MRc.
Idea was to make it just good to very good riders in the team (>> MasterRaceCar <<)!
We had and have very many situations where the drivers are simply motivated only to drive a time under 1:08 in order to come into MRc team. We also help us to drivers questions ....
I think that it is better to have certain criteria, it is much easier for us and the others.

But a good time does not automatically a good driver, we all know :-).
Our goal is simply a team that respects each other, fast and fair, has a good reputation outside and simply have fun with LFS :-)

For members who do not abide by the rules, we will take care of course. :-)

your right theres a few factors that are important and its important that they are able to work as part of a team and have a dedication and not be someone thats going to wander in and out,

Compare it with real life. You can be very very friendly, but if you dont know how to drive, you will never drive in F1 team for example. Just GTFO to some slower competitions. Reality is hard.

Same with MRc. In my opinion we ARE elite team. Most of our drivers are world elite, mainly in Rallycross.

... so we must accept drivers with good times and good statistics if we want keep our team on top. If someone is friendly, but slow... well, some other teams will happy to accept him. He can improve there and then join to us. There must be some chronogical progress.
Simply said: beginners cannot be in elite team.

I joined my first LFS team after around 18 000 laps driven on BL2. I think this is little extreme, but... meh.

The theory is good, and we need this kind of good people.
I think we could test the members some way, eg. watch one or two race of theirs, like an entry exam, and when you see they racing good, then we could let them in. Watch how they try to avoid accidents, or how they defense in a situation, and this sort of thing tells us more than the tm and rt.
I think we need less number good admins rather than a lot of nervous and bad-tempered drivers.

yeah thats why i agree with an mrc member giving a reference as all it takes to get a 1.08.75 or better is a little push around parts of a track with just themselves and a friend on an empty server.

and @sams WR -- I know hes an amazing racer:)

But problem is following.

Situation from real:

Racer want join some team. Admin join and tell: "ok, race and I will watch you and we will see". Of course that he will drive clean, avoid crash, no swear, etc etc.
You realize that? EVERYONE can be "lovely" driver when someone is watching him. Then he will be accepted to team, admin left server and? ....the angel will change to devil And problems starts.

Of course theory looks fine, but we are living in reality

So true that people can easily do that mate,thats why i suppose its a little better that you become to know most racers that use mrc over time and a lot b4 they have though of joining mrc,but then again its not always possible,,am i right that theres a probation period for new racers.....btw i just wanted to say i think that Mrc is run very well..ive not seen any other team run so professionaly and i mean that hand on heart.a job well done by you guys

I thought about this, and I know, how will these drivers drive. But we could ask them when they raced last few times and watch those replays, or whatever. There is no perfect solution of course.

another little idea here but im not sure if it would seem a little extreme or a little invasive and i know it might not always be practical,but here goes,exactly like was said before it is very easy for someone to act in a pleasant manner for the benefit of admins - limads ect to give a impression that they are angels and then when not being watched become hotheaded imature devils,s what about an appointed admin thats with Mrc with a new account under different name randomly joining the servers if there seems to be no admin or Mrc members on there to see how people do behave,as you will knw the majority of applications will be from drivers who drive on the servers fairly regular so it wont be a full blown guessing game of when they are online,and even after then maybe just random checks by the admin while using the undercover account afterwards,it is a common practice in a lot of organisatons as a deterent to people that think they can abuse there new found limad powers..

(il appologise now if seems extreme and il have to blame it on the fact ive just been watching too many hollywood cop movies.lol

But I would feel little like in a prison, or something (or like in 1933 – 1945 in Germany. please dont kill me for this). My opinion is that we should not accept someone into team when we atleast dont know who the hell is he. Some random driver join 1st time in his life to MRc, and same day want join. WTF?! He dont even know anyone from team, no friendship with other MRc members or etc.
They just want get Limad power for 6 known LFS servers and no more care about team events, forum and etc.. It has nothing to do with being in team and behave like teammate.


If someone will drive on our server for longer time and there will be not any problem and also MRc members will know him as good and friendly driver for longer time, then he can join. Team should be like "family" not full of unknown people. We are demo team, not super-hyper-mega-extra professional S2 team with 5 sponsors and participate on all world championships. We can have family atmosphere in team.

i know where your coming from with what you say mate,it is a very big part of a team is to feel like a family and to find it easy to comunicate between each other and i will say all the guys ive met and had chance to get to know are amazing guys and very friendly and also supportive including yourself m8..it would be only those that do abuse powers would need to see it like a prison,,,,it is an impossible situation to eradicate all together knw but seriously if it was once a fortnight or once a mth surely it couldnt seem to much like the eye in the sky is watching over,,,,all off the greatest bussnesses and even greatest football teams and especially racing like f1 have similar kind of things,,,,,



please dont see this as im questioning what your saying mate as you are very right and i am trying think of a way that would help:)
